Lila Freeman paints and draws people, animals and objects from life. She works with charcoal, ink, china marker, paint, canvas and paper. Her visual influences include Alice Neel, William Steig, Mark Rothko, Vincent Van Gogh, Edouard Vuillard, and the early drawings of Andy Warhol. In 2009, Lila had a month-long solo exhibition of her figure drawings at Spring Studio in Manhattan. Newly installed in her Bushwick studio, she is thrilled to be participating in BOS 2010.
She doesn’t drink and draw.
